About CBE

Established in 2018, the Centre for Behavioral Economics at GIPE explores how psychological factors influence economic decisions. The Centre integrates insights from economics, psychology, and experimental methods to study decision-making, financial behaviour, and policy design.

It promotes interdisciplinary research, academic collaboration, and practical applications of behavioural economics in governance, education, and public policy.

The Centre combines experimental methods with behavioural theories to examine decision-making under risk, uncertainty and social preferences. By creating research capacity among students by teaching courses and administering economic experiments, CBE aims to contribute to the evidence-based policy solutions to contemporary economic and social developmental issues.
